hands down, the highest quality set of bags i've ever owned. a gift from my father, i would never have paid the price myself. that said, they are sweet. the leather is incredibly high quality, the stitching is tight, with no loose strings, every stress point is riveted. the pocket layout is intuitive, everything is where you think it should be.
ok that was the rave. couple things i did, the black nylon handles, cut them right off and flame sealed the edge. no regret there. the handles get in the way of the tape pocket.
neetsfoot oil. this leather out of the box is stiff. even with treatment, it will take a long break in period. my girl got a good giggle when i cooked dinner wearing them. i've now taken to keeping them wrapped around a five gallon bucket so it will take a shape. honestly, with no treatment, i think it would take years to break these bags in. i think it may take that long even with modest treatment (don't get carried away with neetsfoot or mink...
